Replacement Filter Set AQ2-KXPb1 Aquarium FRESHWATER Fish Filter
These filters are great for high volume filtering of chemicals from tap water when topping up your fresh water fish ponds and tanks for removal of chlorine, chloramines, heavy metals, volatile organic compounds and a wide range of other chemical / impurities in water without making the water too pure for your freshwater fish as a reverse osmosis system does.
This filter most effective when run at flow rates of below 6 litres per minute and at higher flow rates theeffectiveness of the filters reduce [as this filter works oncontact time with the media so if you are not in a hurry the slower you run the filter the better removal rates you'll get so if can run it below 6 litres a minute with one carbon block and 4 litres a minute with two carbon block you'll achieve the best removal rates].
The actual measurements of the water filter cartridges supplied with this unit are +/- [25cm] x [7cm] and if you need to filter at a flow rate above 6 litres per minute you'll need to consider a larger unit which we can advise on.
It's important to understand with this filters that although the chemicals mentioned above are removed / reduced this filter will not reduce the TDS reading of your filtered water and to do that you'll need a reverseosmosis unit. Reverse osmosis + DI units arerecommended for marineaquariums but not normally forfreshwater aquariums.
